OUR NEW HOME - UGANDA, EAST AFRICA
WHAT WE ARE DOING THERE - Shauen and Krista are serving as LCMS missionaries in Uganda, where Shauen is completing his two-year vicarage. The Trumps work with the Lutheran Church Mission Uganda (LCMU), a youthful and energetic church body that is 13 years old and in that short time has grown to over 60 congregations. Shauen works with fellow missionary Rev. Jacob Gillard in training, discipling, and walking alongside the leaders in this church body. We are based in Uganda's capital city of Kampala, but travel throughout Uganda in the course of our ministry.
The LCMU has five ordained pastors, six evangelists, many dedicated lay leaders, and six regional Mission Training Centers where laymen are trained. Because God is growing congregations faster than he is providing pastors, leaders on the local level are asked to lead worship and start and nurture new congregations. Leaders receive training to do this at the Mission Training Centers. Eleven Ugandan Seminary students will soon graduate from their Seminary studies in South Africa to join in God's amazing work in Uganda.
